2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Account information: Name, email address, password (hashed), and authentication identifiers.
  • Project data: Budgets, milestones, documents, change orders, draw packets, and other project management data you create or upload.
  • Usage analytics: Pages visited, features used, session duration, and interaction patterns to improve the product.
  • Payment information: Billing details are processed by Stripe. We store only a reference token — not your card number.
  • Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and error logs for security and debugging.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the SiteAtlas service
  • To authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To generate AI briefings and analysis from your project data
  • To improve the product through aggregate usage analytics
  • To send transactional emails (account, billing, security alerts)
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third parties to operate the service:

  • Anthropic: AI processing for CEO briefings and analysis. Your project data may be sent to Anthropic's API to generate AI responses.
  • Stripe: Payment processing and subscription management.
  • Google / Microsoft: OAuth authentication if you choose to sign in with those providers.
  • Plausible Analytics: Privacy-friendly usage analytics. No personal data is shared; Plausible is GDPR-compliant.
  • Railway: Cloud infrastructure provider that hosts the SiteAtlas backend.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records).

Project data, documents, and AI-generated content stored in your account are deleted upon account deletion.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Export: Request an export of your project data in a portable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted data at rest, hashed passwords, and regular security audits. However, no system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to [email protected].

8. Cookies

SiteAtlas uses session cookies necessary for authentication and a small number of analytics cookies via Plausible (cookieless by default). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of SiteAtlas after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
